CBD and The Aging Athlete

I was a nationally competitive baton twirler for 8 years in my youth and have tried to stay active ever since. Being fit is a huge priority for Jeff & I, but damn the recovery part gets more difficult as we age.

That’s because each time we do a physical activity, our body breaks itself down in order to build itself back up, leaving us feeling sore and lethargic. Continued stress to our body leads to more pain and inflammation than what our endocannabinoid system can handle.

Adding CBD, helps this overloaded system get the neurotransmitters back under control. And its anti-inflammatory properties and strong antioxidants can help athletes maintain homeostasis and bounce back quicker, making it superb for rehab.

CBD is already being widely adopted by pro-athletes and since the beginning of 2018, the World Anti-Doping Agency removed it from the list of prohibited substances.

For us older athletes using it regularly it not just helps post-workout recuperation but can reduce muscles spasms, anxiety and improves sleep, so we can continue be the athletes we still think we are! Karen Watts Nauman
